June A model administration Sustainable development has been an integrant part of the internal functioning in every department of the DGAC for a number of years, as a means to reduce the impact of its daily activities on the environment. Trips and energy consumption are the main sources of greenhouse gas emissions. Concrete measures were set up by the DGAC to reduce these two sources of emissions : spreading and promoting the use of videoconference rooms, shutting down automatically computers at night and on weekends, extending life span of computers to 5 years, carrying on energy audits for building marked as priorities and in regards to allotted funds, sensibilising agents to a reasonable use of heating and air conditioning in offices.

Research on post-migration processes usually focuses either on micro-level behaviours or on macro The second section outlines an innovative framework that combines Habermas' theory of communicative action and the 'plural man' theory of Bernard Lahire. The central idea is to use a renewed concept of social institutions family, associations and businesses as an entry to the study of social practices and structuration processes. Venturing Abroad in the Age of Globalisation , This volume provides a comprehensive overview of the role of local governments around the world i Drawing on case studies from the Global North and South, this comparative work fills a lacuna in the existing literature which has focused largely on migration as addressed by European and North American cities.

Further, it widens the current debate by confronting northern experiences with attitudes and strategies observed in sending countries; clearly demonstrating that international mobility has become a global issue for cities at both end of the migration spectrum. This innovative work will provide a valuable resource for students and scholars working in the social sciences, public policy and development; in addition to practitioners and policymakers.

Faut-il repenser le principe de libre circulation? Helene Thiollet ed. Y-a-t-il de plus en plus de migrants? This event is the follow-up of a conference cycle on the notion of ecotones. Initially used in ph The aim is to revisit this ecological metaphor and see how it sheds light on the transformations inherent in the social sciences such as in migration, diaspora, and settlement studies, while also investigating the hybrid cultures created in the ecotones discovered in literary studies, and explorations into the transitional spaces brought on by ecological changes.

Ecotones can be analysed through their effects on who and what occupies them, through their relations with the spaces beyond them, through the transformative processes they induce. This second conference seeks to investigate further this avenue of research by focusing on migrant subjectivities and how it intersects with ecotonic contexts. The organizing committee welcomes papers addressing social, cultural and artistic dynamics in relation with migration and transformative ecotones. Our intent is to open a cross-feeding multidisciplinary dialogue.

We welcome examinations of literature, comparisons of artistic expression, investigations of anthropological discoveries, as well as analysis within the political sciences, history and geography. Convocatoria de ponencias: Pensar las migraciones para repensar la sociedad. International conference CFP: thinking migration to rethink the world. Migrinter 30 years.

Key points and observations emphasized in the discussions

Migrinter, 30 ans. This special issue opens up a conversation between three multidisciplinary fields: memory studies The introductory paper articulates an analytical framework addressing various forms of memories of displacement. It defines the concepts of exilic and diasporic memories with regard to the classical and post-modern conceptions of diasporas and shows, beyond their formal opposition, the extent to which these two notions interrelate.

The article continues by highlighting four themes that cut across the collection of papers in this special issue: the relationship between individual and collective memories; the diversity of actors re producing memory narratives; the transmission, negotiation and contestation of memory across space and between generations; and the confrontational and syncretic dynamics which between different types of memories. To conclude, the paper addresses the political implications of the production and dissemination of memories of displacement. Special Issue on 'Refugee and Diaspora Memories'.

Social remittances and the changing transational political landscape.

1. Introduction

The term " social remittances " was coined over fifteen years ago to capture the notion that, in The articles in this special issue, which are primarily about migration and politics, drive forward research on social remittances by examining understudied areas such as Poland, Mali, the Ivory Coast, Tunisia, and Senegal. They elucidate transnational politics by showing how emigrants influence social protests, elections, and calls for greater transparency or reform. They bring to light the social underpinnings of social and economic remittance exchanges and the ways in which material constraints shape social remittance circulation.

Finally by bringing discussions of the circulation of people and money into conversation with discussions about the circulation of culture and objects, they pave the way toward a better understanding of how objects and subjects, structures and agents, although ontologically distinct, maintain a reciprocal relationship of co-production. Social remittances and the changing transnational political landscape.

An 'ecotone' is a transitional area between two or more distinct ecological communities, for inst The two ecosystems may be separated by a sharp boundary line or may merge gradually. An 'ecotone' may also indicate a place where two communities meet, at times creolizing or germinating into a new community. After the first three conferences held in Montpellier, Poitiers and Reunion island, 'Ecotones 4' will focus on one area that has served as an ecotone for centuries.

With its unique position, the region has been criss-crossed for centuries, by travellers, traders, colonists, refugees, pirates and missionaries of diverse racial, religious, linguistic, regional and national affiliations from all over the globe. In this conference we will explore how a region functions through history as a transitional space between two ecologies.

Do these ecotone spaces echo the distinct notes of its two borders, or do these spaces create a unique melody of their own and constitute a third space?
